The Perfect Roast Chicken
Ina Garten's Perfect Roast Chicken is stuffed with a whole head of garlic, lemon, and thyme. Slather it in butter to get the perfect browned skin.
And to accompany it, Ruth Reichl's (former NY Times critic) mac and cheese with crumb topping.
The mac and cheese mis. Dijon mustard gave the cheese sauce a hint of zip.

Mushroom Pork with Momofuku Buns
Inspired by the Ssam Bar, tonight we made mushroom pork patties which we stuffed into steamed buns with quick pickled cucumbers, carrots and red peppers. it was fantastic.

Half a dozen chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting, all for the birthday boy.
